In 2009, Mr. Cisneros suffered a severe stroke, which left his left side paralyzed. Confined to a wheelchair, he began to write poetry about his new perspective on life. Shortly thereafter, he published Heart Split in Two, which contains many insights into his life and thought. For a preview of one of the poems included in his book, please click here.

Heart Split in Two contains not only poetry, but also four art prints, which are pertinent to the poetic themes of each section: Love, Life, On the Conclusion of a Life, and Gifts With Deep Gratitude.
